Unfortunatly husky have prolonged the release too much imo, the 540's build up has peaked, and going down hill now, which with their past record of toppers, they cant afford to do this. we wanted one of each to do a fair test . . .

Thats exactly the way I feel about it, which is why I am interested in what you have to say about the 201. I will try and make my 200 last 'til august, by which time EITHER you will have tested the 201 to destruction/ found that it is awesome, OR husky will have actually relesed theirs, and I will have more to go on. TBH if this stihl turns out well the husky wont get a look in.:001_smile:

Just unpacked and assembled mine but as soon as I tighten up the captive nut the chain gets pinched between the sprocket casing and the plastic guide block. It holds it solid! Is my shiny new 201 faulty or what? I've had it apart 3 times and can't see anything wrong.

very pleased with mine. It seems they've sorted all the things that I disliked about the MS200T. No more piston pumps to replace, no more broken chainbrake handles etc...time will tell of course. My initial impressions are good:thumbup:

Sooooooo, a few months on, burried it in wood on take downs, crane work, pruning, and its still just ok, its lacking something especially when pruning and you want the revvy'ness you get with the 200, much prefer my 'spare' saw, a MS200t which is only a few months older

-so a fair comparison

Performance wise its not a better saw when side by side a new MS200t imo

I have a 2010 200T and a 2011 201T, when I buy again it will be a 200T.

I am sure it doesn't run for as long on a tank of fuel, yes I know it's a smaller tank but it is meant to be more efficient to counter that.

The chain is either running or stopped, you can't seem to feather it and have the chain moving slowly for that fine cutting

The spring antivibe has got caught on stuff

It's £80ish more expensive
