i know us yorkshire folk are known to be 'careful' with our money, but come on....

 

 

13/15 year old tippers are STILL fetching £1000 to £2000

 

looking to increase our fleet with another tipper,

 

do we spend a bit, and if the recent 14 hrs a day, seven days a week is a blip, no worries.

 

do we spend a fair bit ( to me, a fair bit is £7000) on an 06/07 and again, if its a blip sell one of our older tippers for the stupid money that they're fetching.

 

we scrapped an R reg LDV last year because it wanted £500 to get through the mot. bad move it seems. (although we did get nearly £500 for it scrap value )

Remember that the emission regs tighten in the London Emissions Zone soon. There are going to be many vehicles down here for sale. That said it wouldn't surprise me if there was another delay or slackening of the requirements given the state of the economy already.

I know of a vehicle that has already cost its seller maybe 20% of the money it would have fetched without next year's LEZ hit.

If you think that virtually any car with a years MOT will be worth about 250-400 quid, then any tipper in working order with a full MOT is virtually never going to be less than 1000.

i have an old 02 plate transit i paid £3000 for over 2 and half years ago. it costs me £500 on average to get it through mot each year and someone offered me 3 grand for it a week ago with short mot. i just bought a 56 plate and couldnt see the point in sellin the old one. it took over 600 loads logs out this winter without missing a beat. just hope the newer one is as good.
