i have had two pairs of these boots and i went through both in 6 months groundy work and climbing. i have found that the sole comes away from boot after a few months and the sole disintergrates:mad1: spoke to a dealer of these boots and he told me that that was the general feedback on these boots. so i have gone back to hiax. However on a plus point they are comfy and lightweight:001_smile:

as the saying goes by cheap by twice!

I had several pairs of the woodcutter boot and have to say they lasted well but probably not the most flexible boot out there. The orange topped ones also lasted well and the green topped waterproof ones seemed alittle bulky on the foot but perhaps it was just me. Most of my work however is on the ground (forestry) with alittle climbing thrown in so perhaps different for you boys but they always were priced well. Just got given a pair of elten aquafell xperts which on first impressions over a few weeks seem really comfortable but will have to see how long they last!

I don't know which dealer you spoke to but we are the importers of these boots and we certainly don't get the 'general feedback' you describe!

After wearing the oregon greens years ago, I swapped to the Eltens, which did not suit my feet at all, so I then went onto the Treeme boots which were very good, long lasting, and supple from the beginning. Tbh I havent had a pair of the later ones so I cant comment on those, but if the quality is anywhere near those I used to have, you shouldnt have too many probs.

on my second pair now in 2 years.

the sole did come away on the first one and looks like its starting again on the second pair. have had them since nov:thumbdown:

laces rot away within weeks and snap when tying up, been tied together 4 times on each boot.

insoles supplied with boot are crap and travel up the boot when you walk so put in some nice soft ones which are really comfy.

dont wear the boots without insoles as they are really hard and uncomfy.

why did i buy a second pair???

cos they are the most waterproof boot i have ever worn and with my insoles in they are comfy, i hate wet feet when working.

i have always had sweat rash with other boots but not had any with these so they are breathable.:001_tt1:

also they are light but only do ground work with me, but i dont think they would last a climber.

sorry salsb for knocking them but that is my honest opinion. would i buy another pair....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................yes!!

why?? feet and no rash.....healthy feet:001_tongue:

hey salsb... if you ever want boots tested give us a shout.. never had a pair of wook boots last more than a year
