Mike, you may find these easier to use. Drill a hole in the tree a screw it straight in. On the way down you can unscrew them and pop them in your pocket.

Oh? But I'd have to wire the ladder to those Screws Ed.With Teng Screws I just drill straight through the Ladder and into the Tree.

 

As we are all now thinking about techniques to improve out climbing.Has anyone who has had to deal will a really fat tree cut a spiral staircase acending upwards?

 

I'd like to try that once I learn how to sharpen my Poulan.
