which pole pruner ?

Looking to buy a pole pruner with interchangeable heads ( saw and lopper ) presently looking at Silky telescopic ,which is still a bit long when folded down or Stein pole system that dismantles down to six foot sections not sure what fittings ( screw or clip together ) , not so controversal as stihl versus husky , but I want to get the right kit .

We have the Wolfe garten ones they're cheap but great mate not sure about the saw head but the pruners are great

I'm sure Silky are the best but I only needed a limited use model so went for Bahco via Screwfix; I brought the 5m pole - comes down to say 6 ft and the saw and large lopper. Tried out the saw at full entention over the weekend on some 2" ash branches - worked well, just needed a steady saw action (haven't tried the lopper yet). The pole worked well locking ok and light to use.

 

I could fit a Silky blade to it if needed but the Bahco blade assy is 18 quid against 29 quid for a silky blade.

As Lorry says,but I bolted an old fishing reel on mine to hold the cable,works fine.

i have a silki long boy and its fantastic,, but as you cant change the head i no this is not what ur after,,, but the other silki one looks fantastic too

The silky HAYAUCHI 6.3m is a great tool with the lopper lead. I also have a wolf telescopic which is good for smaller stuff.

Agreed. The silky pruner is good but the fancy mechanism doesn't last very long. The wolf one is simple and last forever.

i got a silky HAYAUCHI 6.3m if i do not need all the reach all the time but got it as it would be handy and glad i did get the long one. as i am pruning alot of hard wood for timber i remove the extra ones. it is alot nicer on the arms, it realy handy to use. what about jemson i have neave used one but i think you could fit a silky blade to it. and you can get extars for it
