We were having traffic lights set up for one of our jobs and there was a car parked opposite. We could see them loading the car so new they wouldnt be long before moving.

Another car pulled up behind this one so i asked them to move, he moved back about two car lengths, I asked again and he said i will in a minute. He then got out of his car and got in the other one and drove off.

The car was there for about 30 min and was getting in the way of some big tractors, I called the police who were going to get it recovered as I had asked him twice to move it.

The wife came running around the corner with car keys in her hand asking us to move it.

Another 30 min went past with tractor drivers abusing the wife and husband comes back shouting all the odds and calling us everything under the sun.

That afternoon the office gets a call asking for compensation for spoiling his day and saying that we were very abusive and said that we told him he could park there.

remember me and my mate was doing some work for the council in the woods over a footpath.

we conned it off, put barrier tape round, i was on the ground, highly visible, keeping an eye on my mate as well as around me, even though their was another footpath 10ft that goes around where we was working which was safe enough for the public to use, it amazed me how many people just seemed to ignore, tree cutting signs, me, cones, barrier tape, truck parked in the middle of the path, flashing light going, hazards on, you would think you would be seen... BUT NOPE! people tried to keep coming through and under the barrier tape! AMAZING!

 

Had simular in a wood in Oxford twice, Guy said," I will sue you if that big tree hits me" I replied,"how?":lol:

 

Another time a group of 'ramblers' climbed over barriers & felling signs blocking off paths. But my best was at a hospital where road contactors had closed off the road, I asked if they could extend it a bit so I could drop some trees. So all done to the book, and yep running a big saw & I looked up to see a mum carrying a baby within a yard of me - she always walks there apparently:confused1:

 

But my best was driving along a country lane near home and a large larch had dropped across the road earlier, nothing to do with me but I decided to help the farm lad clear it. As cars stopped the drivers really gave me angry abuse - I mean angry, we blocked off the road until totally clear they would have drove over us.

 

How do you guys doing roadside trees cope with road rage every day.

My wife is a paramedic and it is staggering the amount of abuse they get from people when they can't get past the ambulance or they refuse to let the ambulance through.

 

One numpty refused to move as he was on his phone. He even shouted abuse for them to turn off the sirens. When traffic came to a halt - the motorist was rather shocked when the PC who had been travelling in the back of the ambulance jumped out and nicked him

My dad was telling me about a muppet that was on his ass when on a blue light run down a dual carriageway to an RTC at a well known accident blackspot. When he got a roundabout he dabbed the brakes then slammed them on. He felt a little nudge but didnt think much of it. When he got the the accident he noticed a nice big black mark on the lift hinges. Last week they got an insurance letter through asking for money towards the front end damage to a Mercedes CLK. My dad sent a letter back explaining the car was tailgating him on the way to a car accident. He also said that the ambulances have CCTV on the front, back and sides of the vehicles and was recording 24/7. He sent the insurance company a copy of the video with the time and date and speed. The Merc drivers insurance company has now revoked is policy and the police have charged him with hindering an emergency vehicle, tailgating and insurance fraud.

Still not enough!! We had an Ash to take down over at footpath at a health centre. Had a full compliment of signs and solid barriers to "secure" the area. Job done? Oh no, this little old lady climbs through the cordon, pushes a sign out of her way and starts to walk through the area. I very politely ask her what she's doing, and point out there is another footpath to the front of the centre. She comes out with "I cant possibly walk all that way with my arthritis, and my dodgy hip!!" I gave up and escorted her safely through the area
