I am working for AHS Recycling Ltd, we are one of the major players in aggregating woodchip to power plants and large scale chipping on clearance contracts and clearing tree surgeons yards of excess waste.

 

If I can be of assistance to any of you to help you find a market for your woodchip or help clear your yards of excess log and roundwood then give me a call.

 

Quantity is not as important as you would think, once you have an outlet you can build up a stockpile.

 

Being an ex-tree surgeon myself i understand the industry and the issues that arise.

I'm still surprised that chip that broken down would still be good for fuel.

 

I would have thought that once it was screened to get the right chip size there would be a hell of a lot of composty stuff!

Biomass chip for large scale heat and power installations isn't screened mate, it is walked out of the lorry straight into the fuel pit.

 

Low quality chip we send to be screened and mixed with a higher wood percentage. However we wouldn't pay you for that.

 

Chip upto 18 months old can be used for biomass.

Ohh right interesting stuff, I thought or was told that the chip had to be a certain size and therefore needed screening.

 

I have heard of things like G40/G50 what does it mean?
