Tom Tom or Garmin

Garmin!! Millions use them to navigate some of the most remote areas in the world

When I bought my TT, halfords harped on and on about how much the garmin was best - "we have tank drivers coming in for them cos they know what's best" and all the rest of it. Have had both; neither is perfect but tt atleast finds a signal within a few minutes unlike the garmin which once took 2 hours!

Had both and the Garmin win every time for me. But each to their own.

I've found the tom toms loose signal far too easily, usually just when you need them most! Have always found my Garmin more reliable. Tom Tom is slightly more user friendly IMHO

Thinking about a memory map S7000. Large 7" screen with height, width restrictions etc.

I use one for my work in sales - did a lot of legwork on things like traffic warnings, lane control, named roads, updates, screen size etc - in short Tom Tom had slightly better reviews but bought the Garmin as it came in at £110 against Tom Toms £180 for the same spec - used it now for 8 months - all good and also use a hand held for walking - also good.

 

Pretty much the same as the Stihl and Husky argument:lol:

If I had to do it again neither brand, main reason my iphone offers a maps app = to anything I have seen on a GPS device and the app was included with my phone! In my opinion Garmin/TomTom will soon be Obsolete.
