Sounds like a fine idea, I would definately put my name down for it.

Who would be expexted to pay the subscription fee, the freelancers themselves or the potential employers, or both?

Other than getting your name on a list in a seperate area, what do we get for our money? If it is just a name on a list in another area, then I may as well just advertise my availability in the employment section as I do now for free.

Not having a go, I like the idea in principle, but whats the added value in relation to, or over and above using the already established employment section? :thumbup1:

Cheers,

Rick

My thoughts would be that freelancers/new bods would list their services, a brief summary of CV etc. The advantage of a designated area would certainly be that it is a place that a company looking for staff would go straight to, rther than trawling through the employment forum trying to find someone in their area. If someone is desperate to seek employment froma network of Companies, surely this is worth a small investment? I think an added bonus would be maybe a 5* feedback system, so you can view what others thought of someone, ie whether they'd be worth employing?

Another improvement I feel would be a "situations vacant" area where companies can list job opportunities. (I think this should be f.o.c.)

This is your forum too, give us feedback on ideas, improvements and maybe some of them may get incorporated.:thumbup1:

Regarding the subscription fee, my idea was the person who wanted listing on the site would pay the fee. Those viewing and accessing the persons details, ie the employers, would be able to do so free of charge.

Basically a 24/7 'agency' but the profit making middle man is taken out of the equation.

The star rating system is a good option, or maybe some sort of feedback system???

Regarding the kit list, I meant it more as equipment available, ie Truck, Chipper, Tractor etc.

I dont have the know how to create such a thing but perhaps if we show enough interest then the powes that be may have!

Thanks Andy,

Appreciate you and Steve taking the time to answer my queries.

As I said at the beggining I think its a good idea and would be definately willing to participate. And it would definately be worth a tenner to help support a simply great website and forum from which I have gained so much more than simple riches.

Keep up the good work lads.

If you want work and good money you have to stand out from the others, being on a list is for guys who want the world to come to them imo.

get a phone, sit it on a rock and make a film, stick it on utube then on here, do something diferent, show initiative and your work will speak for itself.
