You can get some stuff forgot what it's called but is thin ply with fibregalss on either side it's light and strong. Have a look round some commercial breakers mate sometimes they're just happy to get rid.

I used exterior grade birch ply - supurb! they allow a good finish if you want to paint and then subsequently sign write.

I primed, undercoated and 2 coats of gloss (actually turned out really well!)

They seem to be holding out well too (9 months old and strong as ever!!)

Ally sheeting is about £130 for a 10ft sheet

 

GRP board which is the stuff they make they make trailers out of is such a massive price I are not speak it

doesnt the weather split the ply

 

We put a marine ply back on our first transit as a temporary thing when we started up over 7 years ago. It's still fine... In that time it's had 2 coats of paint.
