I've been a bit dissappointed with this last set of Haix (tibet Forest) - last pair did two years whereas this pair are looking like they might not see the year in before they split.

Heard good things about Meindl.

I have a couple of pairs of the old Stihl type (made by Elten) they seem to be bomb proof and reasonably comfy, also have a pair of Haix Protector Pros which are like slippers! But i tend to save them for when its really wet or boggy.

meindl air streams you cant beat them realy comfy and your feet just dont sweat in them, they lasted me a year. well worth the money but they are dear i think cheapest is honey brothers 170

Meindles for fancy footwork and Klimbas if you're going to spend all day on spikes. I'd try getting another pair of freebie boots first though unless you've abused them. Personally wouldn't have the Aquafells again.

Meindl all the way, comfiest (chainsaw) boots I've ever worn. I found the Waldlaufers more comfortable and hardwearing (but warmer) than the airstreams, but that is totally down to foot shape I suppose, and you should really go with whichever manufacturers last fits your feet best....
