I'm liking the tachyon at the moment, as for breaking strains as far as i'm aware all modern ropes are strong as hell and fairly close to each other, it certainly would'nt be a factor in choosing a modern climbing line for me from a reputable brand.

I go more for feel in the hand and colour.

I always use sticky gloves so they grip any rope the same tight. I dont like 11mm just to small for my liking. Been tought on 13mm and like it.

Are there pros and cons to each rope any suggestions.

If you want 13mm and length is not important (37m minimum) then it won't make a lot of difference what you go for!

NE Hi vee, is probably the longest lasting

Arbormaster is very good IMO.

XTC is also good, bit stretchy compared to arbormaster but good.

The narrower 11 and 11.5 ropes give better performance because they are lighter and so they follow you round the tree better but you only really get an advantage with longer rope lengths.

My quibble with 11mm is i dont see it as a equal strenght to 13mm if it was i would use it but i feel its weaker but i have never used it hence im after your opinions
