Impressive pics. What's the reason for going down there?

Dog theory I would presume. Oh, and I would also presume it has something to do with the nutcase cameraman Geoff Mackley (cool job) who maybe doesn't have the where with all ropes wise that Drew has. Or am I barking completely up the wrong tree?

Nothing scientific, yet, just to be the first to get to the bottom and film up close. Ideally we want to get as close as poss before gear starts to melt. It maybe 50m from the lava, we just don't know. The other concern is gases but again we have no way if knowing u til we are down there. It's all good fun.

The short answer is we don't know 100% but are pretty sure they will work. Don't really have too may options. Our proposed system will be, 2 ropes. Main line attached to a capstan of portable winch. Primary ascent will be motorized ascender, if this fails then we resort to the winch to haul us out. If this fails then the 2 nd line will be have a 10-1 fiddle block attached so crew can haul us up with that.. And we will be carrying full srt gear as well but thts a last resort due to heat suits, o2 tanks etc. no doubt the setup will have faults but that's the nature o the beast, constantly modifying and changing to suit the conditions as they occur.
