Hi just seen your thread on IRATA. Ive been thinking of doing my irata qualification for a couple of years now and just wondered if there is plenty of work about. I have been a climber for the last 10 years and am wanting a change. I know that QTS carry irata work out but which other contractors work arounds the uk and what sort of money are you making?

miss treework tons, i'm better off (financially) this way and i have more future oppertunities but i really miss seeing the natural world, oil refineries are horribly sparse places and smell very weird with lots of potential hazards

bridges are windy

Treework isn't the be-all and end-all, you got years ahead of you to go back to it. Go where the money is, fantastic photo's, stay safe Jamie:thumbup1:

Remember you'll have to deal with some of the worst and most poorly designed anchor points in the climbing world. Industrial rope access is way too dangerous for me. Your a brave lad.

:way out of my depth here but seeing as its the unofficial IRATA thread?,,,

Are employability prospects good in terms of having say lev 1 for starters?

Future scope for Wind Turbine access/inspection/maintenance etc. has to be in demand but I assume that would also require at least some form of Electricians qualis?

Theirs some openings on "rigg-access" and such but most if not all are L3?

My situ is deplorable at the mo hence looking at anything and not Pay levels, but I considered IRATA route after 38&39 NPTC`s last year but work didnt come to fund the training :(

Interesting pics btw:thumbup1:

At least the man made objects have been tested unlike out tree anchor points! Lots of variables from species time of year etc.
