I had this happen when i was a wee lad. I poured the petrol from the combi can onto the bonfire. The flames then went up into the fuel can and set alight. Chucked the can and ran for my life!. Didn't do that again in a hurry. glad you're still with us though :blushing::thumbup:

Thanks for kind words people and I'm gla I'm not the only guy who has been a nugget with petrol, dare say probably won't be the last.

Can't say as I'll be doing it in a hurry again, usually pretty good at lighting brash the ray mears way, grew up watching him all thru childhood.Impatience and stupidity finally got the better of me I guess.

Bright side I won't need to be shaving anytime soon haha

sure gets heart going better than a coffe I can say that much.

Just hope I don't turn into a wuss ass and bottle it around fires from now on.

Glad you're OK and glad you learnt without too much serious damage. Had a groundy blow himself over a fence when I first started after he threw or tried to throw the contents of a jerry can onto a fire that was smouldering. Heard the boom from out on the street followed by a big black cloud. Ran round the back of the house to find the guy less his eyebrows and a good deal of hair picking himself off the floor. He used old sump oil after that.

Even the pro's can get caught out with petrol. In this case the fireman didn't take into account the fuel vapour was trapped by the roof of the boat. Petrol and flames are best mixed inside pistons:thumbup1:
