Is there by any chance if cheaper version of the hobbs/grcs eg just a friction bollard of sorts.

I would go for a larger porta-wrap eg the buckingham or the ISC. A fraction of the price

i have used all the potty wrappers i personally prefere the large buckingham one over the isc but the isc one is bigger so better for the rope care and strength

and i prefere the english braid to double esterlon and yes i have got both the english braid is softer and nicer to handle
