Spares for a vermeer 620i and maintainance advice

I'm just wondering where i can get some spares for my vermeer 620i chipper?

Struggled for a while to get an air filter for it! but managed to get one the other day,

Are the parts just vermeer only?

i'll be on the lookout for a new drive belt soon i think as the adjuster is on full and there is still a lot of slack in the belt...

Is there anywhere i can find maintainance tips for the chipper and belt tensions etc?

This is my first chipper and want to keep on top of it so it will last me a while

Any advice and help appreciated

Filters generally have a number on them which should then be cross-referenced with Coopers Filters for example. Belts have a number on the back of them which give the length and profile and these can be sourced from a belt supplier near you. Failing that, go to Vermeer UK Ltd in Wellingborough. Advise is free - but parts will need to be paid for.:sneaky2:

There are bound to be members who still have 620 or 625's so post a thread!

The kohler engine parts such as air filters can be got from the serial numbers, if you go on some american arb sitew you might even be able to get a manual to down load. I used to have one and it had a manual with it with all the details you are after but it went with the machine.

better still, a GreenMech:001_tt2:

You have a great machine there, which will serve you well for years if you so wish. They are the most overengineered machines i have ever come across....

For bearings and belts etc use Brammer. Vermeer are extortionate on parts.:sneaky2:

Here are my old 620 which i had for about 8 years and fitted a 32hp deutz diesel to, which was just unstoppable

and my present 935i which i resprayed....after lots of teething problems it is now phenomenal....like a vermeer should be

IMO they are pretty much the best machines out there.:thumbup:

yeah i'd like to go the diesel route one day possibly, but at the moment the little petrol can take lots that i throw at it!!

seen a few bits that need attention like the exhaust has a hole in the bottom, just spotted today lol

i thought about possibly stripping it in the winter getting it blasted and painted as my uncle is a car painter :) its a cracking chipper for the money i have in it and it enables me to earn a wage etc and is paying its way :)
