Im just wondering theoretically is their a 'too heavy to be a tree surgeon' limit? I weigh 17 stone...but I got my body fat done at the gym and its closer to below average than above, so im not 'fat' medically. Would you say this is too heavy? I don't really want to loose any weight to be honest.

yogi if you are 6 foot 4 and built like a rugby player you will be fine:biggrin:, if you are a wee fatty then give yourself a slap and loose some weight:001_rolleyes:. If you are going to get into the business seriously then you will have to, your competition will be a hyper active racing snake that lives on red bull and pepperami, he will knock out your day jobs by 10.30am and take all your work.:laugh1: Fat isnt good, no matter how much Gok Wan tells the chunky mums its cool.

Yogi, no training in the gym will prepare you for a job with a tree company, gym work is usally about rest and reps and eating good food. NOW throw that into a busy contracting crew living on juice and a greggs if you can get parked with a wagon and chipper in a bus stop, it just isnt the same.:laugh1:

I used to do 16 hour shifts shoveling coal and climbing ladders before starting as a trainee climber. The first day i fell into bed at 8pm and was done in, this job is all about WANTING to do it, if you dont you will hate it:001_rolleyes:.

12 hour shifts dragging brash and doing pull ups and dips will take it out you thats for sure, experienced climbers dont work a tenth as hard as newbies.

Get used to being thirsty and holding in the need to go to the bog!!!!

Geoff you know how i like to dress things up:biggrin:

ps i am 6 foot and 12 stone and believe i am carrying 1 stone more than most full time climbers my size.
