husky 325p5 or silky

Hi chaps.. been looking at getting an extenable pole pruner, husky 325 or simular.. met a guy in the pub lastnight who recons i should buy a 4 part silky saw insted?? any advice ?

what are you going to be using it for?

 

if you're looking at rows and rows of crownlifting to do then its probably worth a pole pruner. otherwise id just go with a manual saw

I hate high pruning. Pole pruners have the worse vibration of any tools they can get bent very easly as you often try to one more big limb.

 

Get a nice silky on a stick keep it sharp. Keep the cuts clean and acurate.

Brothers got a 325 - nice bit of kit and is well made - he rates it and uses Husky, Stihl and Viking kit generally.

 

Only problem he has had was with a carboned up exhaust baffle - I managed to split the exhaust and open up the holes and reseal - goes much better now - local dealer said it would last a season when he looked at it and it did two weeks - I said it would last a season when I did it and it has done 2 years to date:thumbup:

'iv had my silky polesaw for about a month now & i'm well pleased (hayabaci 2 extension 3.7 M) used it to drop 3 lower branches off a scotts pine the other day - the smallest one was about 15 cms O.K. so i had to finish off from the ladder with a chainsaw but this proved what a good piece of kit the silky is
