Cut Throat

Razor blade. Anyone use them instead of a Bic or electric? I had a cut throat shave in Thailand but that was done by an expert. You can pick them up pretty cheap on ebay but I wonder why more people aren't using them. I'd sooner trust myself shaving with one of these

Shaving is such a PITA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I've had a beard for over 18 years, its so much less hassle!!!!!!!!!

My brother-in-law uses one, bought a kit with all the sharpening paraphernalia and really enjoys the experience, have to say it looks as if you need a bit of nerve to get started and confident with it but gives a super clean shave, I guess if you enjoy getting a good edge on axe, bill hook, saw etc. then this will be very satisfying way of shaving, yes I went the beard route some time ago! A marvellous disguise as well time saver but…… have not had one for a few years now

Always had the multi bladed chuck away jobby. Occasionally had a beard. But never tried the cut throut. If shaving is a PITA, try doing your face first!

My facial hair gets a bit itchy and sometimes get snagged in the helmet chin strap. Gonna try a cut throat

I use one of thos Gillette power thingymajiggies but would love to be able to use a cut throat. I had a proper cut throat shave once and it was fantastic. Not just the closeness of the shave but the whole experience. It isn't just A shave. Unfortunately there's not too many places in NZ you can still get a proper cut throat shave

Same here. The barbers won't pay the excessive insurance required to do this and if you got so much as a drop of blood, some folk would seek compensation

There used to be a barber in Chipping Norton, would give cuthroat shaves, as you say, a real experience, hot towel, and all. You would come out feeling immaculate.
