It wouldnt of made any diference reducing the height, Frost and windburn only damages the foliage that is left if you trim it in.

 

Oh. Thats odd. This t**t at the council claimed it wouldn't survive long with the stem being bare and exposed to the cold. He never mentioned foliage.

i will top a conny hedge any time of the year, but on trimming the sides, i wont between Mid October and April.
