Does anyone know if there is a (small) boiler suitable for a house available that will burn fresh green chip? (to be sited outside!)

The one in link above appears to just be an experimental one that the guy gave up on because of uneven burn.

Interesting concept and long overdue John.

There is only so much you can do with a woodchipper designed to quickly reduce large volumes of waste in the chip quality department while still keeping it fast and efficent. The way I see it the changes needed to utilise all unrefined or pelletised woodchip as fuel really needs to come from the boiler manufacturers. In theory it's much simpler to build a burner to automatically feed, dry and burn green chip than it is to build a general purpose chipper that will separate the green waste from the wood and produce a very fine chip.

Useful if it will run with 50% moisture content as on the link. Free woodchips from tree services.

There is a German stove which also gives hot water and runs both on logs and woodchips which needs filling once a week.

has any body got any info on one of the germans stoves
