are ldv's really that bad? ive been looking for my first chip truck and ive mostly been looking at fords but after hearing lots of bad things about them and the second hand prices are really expensive for what they are! ldv seems a basic cheap alternative. also is 90bhp going to be ok pulling chipper tools etc or will it tow its rocks off? anyone with any good/bad experiences with them?

mate they are basic but for a small company they are fantastic, ours is a 2004 model and it will pull a full load of chips and a 750kg chipper with ease (growns abit on steap hills) would recomend one

I've the 75PS LDV now that is underpowered but does a job. Struggles on steep hills if "fully" loaded with a 750kg chipper but with a normal full load and chipper does fine. With the 75 add a intercooler and you will get closer to 90bhp then get it chipped and it will be higher again.

We've got a 75ps one, and yes it's uncomfortable, slow and chuggy like everyone says, up a hill you've got a good chance to read a short novel!! BUT it has NEVER let us down, pulling full loads and a heavy kwikchip chipper. I'd say there alright, no nonsence trucks.
