Some of these statements are untrue. I don't mean without belief - just untrue.

Gene mutation can be observed by anyone studying 'genetics' to a reasonable level.

For the layman - if genetic 'mutation' didn't exist, then all siblings would be identical. ie. there's an element of potential mutation in every event in which genes are 'exchanged' eg. fertilisation of an egg by another's sperm.

 

With regards to the flood - did Noah get a pair of every species of animal into an ark. That's a lot of animals nevermind the plants and bacteria that must have been needed to re-seed the world after the event.

Do you really deny God's existance when you hold your children close on a summers evening and wonder just why man exists and what his place in the universe is?

 

You have just explined the existence/ reason behind religious belief. If science was what it is now many years ago would religion have become what it is? The very existence of faith/ belief religion call it what you will totally proves that it is itself a fuuly fallible establishment that CANNOT be proven, and if it was would become even less tenable than it already is.

Can I ask you guys who do believe in a God, your thoughts on other religions beliefs and if you believe that they are all disillusioned and actually have no god or if it is one shared god (if that makes sense). Personally I don't believe. I believe the sun comes up and goes down and without it we are all dead. The whole topic is starting to get beyong my levels of either comprehension or intellect (being a bit thick I suppose) but I do think that religion should be a choice in schools not forced upon you. Not sure if things have changed these days but when I was at school we all had to sing hymns and say prayers. This included Muslims, Hindus etc.

 

As far as the foster, adoptive parents go; If the kids are brought up in a loving family, taught morals and respect, I don't have an issue if they are gay, christian, muslim or hobbits. I saw an American program recently where the kids were brought up in a neo nazi household. THAT was worrying.
