seriously i wont send any of my tools to the local stihl or husky dealers. I DONT TRUST THEM! (probably less so than sellers on ebay)

They tried to get me to scrap an 020T i was doing up as it was knackered, needed about £200 spending on it apparently, got the bits i needed for £45 (genuine stihl) and fixed it up, and i know for a fact its still going strong

How long did it take you to fix that 020t?

Our local dealer kept writing off our saws. We were having a right mission finding someone we could trust. I asked the good people of Arbtalk and got a number for some competent mechanics. I sent them two dead MS200's which my dealer had written off hoping they'd make one but they got them both running!

Charlieh, If you think it worth keeping i would see if he can pay for the parts or get postage back. If not open a dispute With ebay. If you payed through pay pal arn't you insured up to £500.

As a dealer people like this put us to shame, We always repair rather then sell, theres more money in the repair than selling a new machine for us.

Charlieh if you need any spares I've probley got them in stock and can get them to next day.

Good luck
