I did my first big takedown just before my 18th. Got my FTC certs in '91. Dad owned the business, so I had little choice in the matter :D

i did the silly thing and became a fully qualified car mechanic first, but did my first big take down at 19 to if i remember correctly, my uncle whos now a consultant for jeremy barrell gave me ago on his ropes and since then i was hooked

i was qualified at 20, i was doing bigish takedowns then didn't really know what i was doing, i was just happy to see things hit the ground without anything getting smashed. a year later then i got on the proper big stuff

I'm 21, had chainsaw tickets since I was 17, and been climbing since I was 18. I'm the lead climber at work, the youngest, and the shortest climber you're likely to see at about 5'2...

I reckon experienced tree surgeons are at their best between 25 and 35 years of age.

 

I'm 32. LOL.

 

I sub a climber who's in his early 50's and hes really quick and going strong. He also climbs mountains. Fit as a fiddle.
