Had an l200 warrior, it had similar issues with egr, they become porus and let exhaust gases back into the water circulation, which causes loss of power usually leading to whole load of issues with over heating etc, complicated engine set up really for bit of power u get, trade in and get a hilux better mpg reliable and slightly more power.

Wish we could trade it in for a Hilux but got a contract with Ford so any new vehicle will be a 3 litre Ford Ranger.

Had an ongoing problem with mine going into limp mode at regular intervals. Had to pull over, turn off engine and wait for click from behind glovebox. I was told it's the ECU sensing an overboost from the turbo.

Since blanking off the EGR valve I haven't had a problem...touch wood!

3ltr ranger sounds nice, nothing wrong with ford really :) What sort of engine is it? I heard a rumour they were having the option of fittin a more agri engine, which would be better for those towing mower decks, etc. Rather than a normal car orientated engine that might burn out at 5mph for 2 hours. One thing to check is the ratio on the axle diff. I'd go for a low ratio as it'll help pulling a lot of weight and be better off road. Newer ones tend to be higher as it gives better fuel consumption, but can make moving weight more difficult. Not really the game with these sort of vehicles, though, is it?
