Shame the tree had to go but looks like it was taken down in very professional and efficient way. Nice work, the hiab looks just the job.

 

The bifurcation point was riddle with inonotus hispidus, plus there is a huge replanting scheme going on at this site.

I like to commend you on one very overlooked aspect of chainsaw safety.. I see that you are making your final cuts with the chainsaw properly at your waist.

 

Too many times I see folks cutting above the waist near the chest and even neck and head height region...

I thought it best to cut at chest height rather than waist height, well thats what I was taught:confused1: Maybe ive been doing it wrong all these years :001_smile:

Weird huh?.. It only makes sense that if the saw kicks back at you, better to have it hit your waist rather than your chest,, where your major organs just happen to be resting. And when your up at chest height working a cut, the throat is only 6 inches away..
