Right boys,

 

I currently run a MS260(16') and a MS441(20'), I find the 260 bit gutless in the hardwood stands I'm currently working in so the 441 is doing all the work.

 

What I'm after is something in between the two saws above, I've been thinking MS362 or 357XP. Could anybody who's used both saws in similar stands(syc, ash and oak) give me their opinion on which saw is better?!?!?!? Also does the 357XP come with 3/8" 1.6mm chains?

Have you thought about openiong up the muffler and re-tuning the carb, did this on my 345 Husky and it goes like a 350.

 

I worked on my brothers 026 recently and saw that the exhaust outlet was pretty small - may be worth looking at this.

 

I am surprised that you find the 260 a bit lacking as they have a great rep.

Dont get me wrong it is a good saw and I shall not be without it, I suppose I just want an excuse to buy another saw lol

sounds like you're ready for the 341.

Don't know the 362, the 357 has a great rep - light, powerful, low AV - weakness is the carb boot - has a tendancy for air leaks.

PS - the 357 comes in 3/4 or .325 sizes

Stick a 15" bar on your 260.

Spuds right. Open up your muffler on your 260. Its really restrictive in standard form.Mine really rips with a 16"bar.361 looks a good saw otherwise.Not used one though. A 440 would also be a good saw.

Get a 372XP on an 18" bar.

I had a 357 and they are worlds apart from the 260.

260 is workmanlike with a 15" let alone a 16". 13" will sort it out.
