just wondered if any1 could tell me the sequence of cuts that an assesor wants to see in "chainsaw in the tree", also any info regarding the use of tape sling would be appreciated

break cut and throw, hinge towards you break off and throw, drop a limb off using a hinge getting the branch to fall nicely:001_smile:this is not exact but along those lines.

2 hand held sections, one step cut and one gob top and pull back towards you....

 

1 step cut free fall and one gob cut, swing back towards tree

 

use of sling for hand held sections if think their going to drop section or for positioning also

With the tape sling do you need to tie it off to the trunk while you make the cut incase it drops?

They also look for a vertical gob cut now.

yes, sorry you tie it inboard if possible or just make sure hinge is strong enough to hold and use it for extra leverage

 

the latter is for pussy's due to the size of wood you remove for the cs39

 

i think you have to fell 2 upright limbs also...

inboard stepcut freefall, outboard stepcut freefall, sink cut freefall, sink cut hand held and a step cut handheld and a pruning cut, and depending on the assessor they may need to be demonstrated twice. hope that helps.
