Leaning Pine removal

We brought down this leaning pine on Saturday morning. I only received the call the night before from a friend of mine who’s still recovering from a pretty horrific circular-saw-bench accident. Obviously I was glad to help him out of a spot. Understaffed, over a highway, it was a rush to put the tree down before the traffic got too busy….Far from exemplary saw-handling and traffic management, I know….but we were in control, made the best of the situation and had the tree down before noon. Nothing technical, just a bread and butter job.

Nice work Reg. Pleasure to watch as always.

I have seen a few vids from you now, and have enjoyed watching the tree removals. However, as a part timer, it would be interesting for me to see you rigging from the start of the job. Have you thought of doing a vid covering that aspect? I am sure i'm not the only one who would be interested in that.

Darin, yeah they shouldn't have ran under until I'd given them the all clear, but they're not regulars you see.

 

Also, that branch had been shortened sometime in the past so it wasn't as long as it appeared and would have only skimmed him anyway:sneaky2:

 

Andy, they're only for light entertainment mate, anything else would have to be far better structured and explained. I hear Beranek is working on a series of instructional DVDs, hopefully one of our retailers will jump on it and make them available for us all.

I see what you mean about the chapter 8! Nice work with the wedges looks like it saves alot of effort breaking off big slabs of pine.
