Operator licences - again...

Oh there are lots of little loopholes and dodges for sure, but as far as advise for someone considering applying for a first o licence goes, then doing it by the book is the best bet.

 

Drum brakes on rear, not sure what axle it is though, but I'll keep it in mind cheers!

I agree with both Peter and Treequip on this one, the vehicle(s) should be parked at the operating centre whenever possible, if your home address is close by they might 'frown' upon you taking the vehicle home on most occassions.

 

To keep legit you are better off sticking to the law, it may be a bind, but not half as much if you dont.

im not disagreeing with there views at all, i like loopholes, thats all!!!!! :thumbup:

January 2010 Guidance Notes from the DFT say £3100 for first vehicle, £1700 for each additional.

 

Standard National and International are now both £8100 for the first, £4500 for each additional.

 

The same figures apply btw whether you are running a brand new £200k 8x4 recovery vehicle or a 20 year old 5 tonne tipper.

And bizarrely they also apply even if you are only spot hiring a 7.5 tonner, and don't actually own or lease anything that you would need to maintain! :confused1:
