Planning application has been submitted for a new VOSA checkpoint on the A14/A1088 junction in Suffolk. Now I know we're all professional law-abiding citizens and this wont affect us in any way, but that will mean there are 2 checkpoints in this area. Hopefully they'll target dodgy foreign trucks.

Can you drive round them (you dont want to get stuck in the queue of dodgy foreign trucks!!) or do you have little choice?

Yes, locals will know where to avoid "congested' areas.

I think that Vosa are becoming extremely active towards "soft" targets.

 

Remember - if it weighs more than 3.5 maximum allowed mass - you should keep manual records as well as tacographs! And only the last 28 days should be kept in the truck.

 

That gem cost me £200 to find out that!:sneaky2:

thanks for the heads up. we don't often venture those ways but always handy to know.

and it's the woolpit/ixworth/elmswell turn off (which has a traveller site next to it - interesting to know how often they get pulled!!)
