Well it's now 24 years since I went self-employed and where is the work?

 

For the first time we're scrattin' for work and I can't see it getting better yet. Time to build a website and see if that brings in anything. Can anyone give good recommendations what to look for as I know absolutely nothing about them!

I always find a chat with existing or old customers a good start. It's amazing how many times they'll stay "I was just thinking about calling you" when you call with them and it leads to job.

i did my website on webs.com and its pretty simple to use and its free it has plenty of templates and that to choose you should easy manage give it a try!

Do it on Wordpress mate, so much easier than html etc.

+1 for WordPress, it's free and easy to use!

 

I started mine only a couple of months ago, a mate helped to set it up, I can now add pages, text and pics dead easy. I am normally crap with computers too...

It's hosted by Google (sites.google.com) and is clearly one of the quickest to set up. No need to code a single line of code og any kind. And you get good search engine optimization (so your site appears in the search result when potential customers google for an arborist).

It also has easy integration to Google Analytics (so you can get information about how many and who visits your website).

 

Oh. And best of all... It's all free (as in "free beer").

Just done a wordpress site too with the help of a mate who is a web designer though. But its easy to use and make changes too.

The google sites mentioned above are free for two years then chargeable afterwards I think ?

 

We wish, well me specifically wished ours was in a wordpress format, Its soooo much easier than messing about with text editors and ftp clients.
