Just a quick one. Will the bar and chain from my 039 go onto my 660? I know both are 3/8" bar and chain. But are there different types of 3/8" chain?

It's a by cloudy for me this one!

i would think they should swap just check all the holes on the bar line up ie the oil ing hole

The different types of 3/8" chain are the low profile ones ie top handle chain and the gauge ie the thickness of the chain.Well apart from the cutter style. None of this will matter aslong as the bar physically fits and the oil hole and adjuster line up as niftysteve says.

Taking off a 36 and putting an 18 on. I think it will run ok on it! Then I can go from an 18 to a 13 on my 260.

18" will be a tad overkill on the 660 Rob:thumbup:

My 260's are on 0.325 though, there may be a difference between that and the 390/660.

Edit; possibly just sprocket though.
