Hi-Lux sux. I've had two, very poor compared to a defender. That Hilux in the video definately was'nt running the standard air intake....

 

Nobody in the bush runs standard air intake, i'd like to see a new Defender go through those floods, mine leaked like a siv with drizzle let alone 3' of water..:001_tongue:

Your right. I remember you could tell who was the urban warrior and who actually needed their 4x4 for the bush.

City's were full of flashy new 4x4's, but all the bush trucks were old 4.2 Patrols and Landcruisers.

The only Hiluxes I remember were beach runners on Fraser Island.

Did like the Aussie spec Defenders though. 120 wheelbase, trayback, and 3.9 isuzu engine and transmission.

If you listen Ed you hear him say come on "snorkel" so he must have snorkel on the air intake.

 

If it had been a defender the water in the cab would have been up to your neck,lol.
