Looks very much like Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii,). Its genus is Pseudotsuga.

 

Think RangerMatt may be right,Pseudotsuga is easy to id through examining its cones (try and find some) Picea foliage tends to spiral around the stem, this appears to be more horizontal in the photographs?

well with two old dogs, myself and graham saying xmas tree I would not be so quick to continue down the Douglas fir route!

 

If that looks like a dougey fir to ANY of you, you need to get yourselves off to spec savers pronto!:lol:

 

With the greatest respect how old are old dogs? think i may be in that catagory too??:blushing:if you can show me the cone i'll relent

Ok time to eat humble pie , just had a look at our only specimen of Douglas and the pictures are obviously different:blushing: if only i could have seen the cones first:thumbup1:
