Ok, Daniel I did only appologise for being rude earlier, no more.

Seperately, I should not of called you a nutcase. It was a little strong, so I would like to appologise for that too.

You still never listed the lies, untruths, and not sure if calling someone a nut case is hateful, but you obviously took it too heart, so Im sorry.

However, Im going to take Stevies advice and say Merry Xmas Daniel, hope you have a good one:thumbup:

We get taught a range of cuts.

Split level cut - leaves holding wood that can be broken in the same way but IMO is less complicated.

I wonder how much time is saved not finishing a cut to ground level. Again to cut the stump flush would have taken 5 - 10 mins at the most after the fell.

Again well done for trying new techniques, hopefully you will discover something we all think is valuable. In this case I think the simple ways are often safer and more predictable.

Good luck

You have to flush cut the stump and then handle the round. Might have to quarter it and chip it. 10 minutes is a lot of time IMO.. might not sound like it to some, but the cumulative effect of saving a few minutes here and a few seconds there repeatedly throughout the day really adds up.

How much time is taken up in your day, on average making vids Daniel?

This is the only photo I can find - it shows part of the hinge that failed due to the grain direction. The felling direction was towards the camera, the failed part on the right of the picture. Sorry to divert the thread.

Forgot to say thanks for the pic and info.:thumbup1:
