Timber gone!

Recently felled some large Holly and for Holly was left with some good timber.

I was in the process of enquiring about posssible uses for the wood as my removal deadline was 21st July.

Last resort firewood.

The quote was to remove all the trees!

The rep for the project, asked if some of the wood could go to a friend and usually this means some of the easy wood would go. I left it all in seven metre lengths, but a few stray bits!

Turned up Saturday and the site had been stripped of every last bit.

I felt peeved but also thought that the true ownership of the wood was debatable.

Would you be miffed???

Opinions please

Yep, I'd be more than miffed, especially as you left it in saleable lengths. I'm no lawyer, but you cut it as part of a contract, that makes it yours.

Have you enquired around hauliers etc, 7m lengths take some shifting, or had they been cut on site?

I have left timber before in all kinds of places, big bits of poplar and willow etc yep it was taken just as i'd hoped!

I always cut up the willow and poplar so they can get it in their car, always leave the ash in BIG lumps:sneaky2:

cheeky sod`s ! the removal of the timber was part of the contract, so the stuffs yours ! do`nt you just hate when some one say`s " could you just "..... i`ve had the same on jobs with people stealing wood... i`ll go the extra mile to cut up the rubbish so people can take it way, but the good stuff in long lengths. good stuff are perks of the job !

Yep left in 7metre sections, all in rows, nubs off and ready for hiab. BAAAAAAAAA!:mad1:

So that means somebody went on site with a chainsaw. School site. Cut it up. If somebody got hurt, who is responsible for them?:confused1:
