Pass... it doesn't matter what the salesperson says or knows about the industry, the bottom line is the contract you signed with the insurance company. The policy document that goes with that contract says exactly what can and can't be claimed for as well as any minimum training standards required, etc. As long as you comply with the contract then their is no reason that I can see why the company would not to pay out for a valid claim.

Been through it with a magnifying glass. At no point is ANY kind of training mentioned!

The fact that they were happy to take my money gives me condidence that I am insured. Sort of....

I changed insurance companies the other month. This one and the previous were only interested in turnover and allocating that turnover to percentages of work, ie how much was tree surgery, stump grinding etc etc.

Not once has any of them asked if I'm certified.

They were very interested in what locks and CCTV we had at the yard for plant insurance though.:sneaky2:

I wonder if its because there are so few claims for 3rd party damage its not worth asking?

I did have a thread ages asking if anyone had had any bad experiences in getting payed out for 3rd party damage. IIRC there were none if any responses.

It might not use the word training but refer to some loose terminology as industry standards or something similar.... might not though. Unfortunately the only way often to find out exactly what the company expects is to make a claim and see what, if any excuses they come back with why your claim is not valid. This does not mean they won't pay, but are being awkward about paying.
