what about the problem of there being no sedimenter????

shouldn't need a sedimenter, mine hasn't got one either but at the base of the fuelfilter (engine bay bulkhead) there should be a plastic wheel to undo to drain off water, i'd just change the filter and forget it..

Put one jump lead on the battery earth terminal and the other end on a starter motor bolt or as near to the starter as you can get it.

Disco's suffer with the metal fuel pipe going porous where it comes out of the tank. This lets air into the fuel system. Take the plate up in the boot floor & cover the metal fuel pipes with grease. This will stop air getting into the system. If this helps change the fuel pipes.

If your engine is turning over long enough for it to flatten a good battery then its probably fuel related.

Yeah, that's where we are up to. From cold the battery cranks it over fast and normal. It's just taking ages to fire so the battery gets slower.
