My old boy could knock one together, just fancy treating him to a new one as he does the splitting:thumbup: I do have to quater everything thow he struggles a bit now hes nearing 70.

For speed, go PTO powered rather than a petrol - the towable might be more versatile but the downside is it will be a lot slower.

 

PTO will give consistent performance on most tractors (so even with poor flow and pressure) and generally will be fine at a fast tickover so are fairly economical

There was one I saw advertised on ebay which splits in both directions, here is the company selling them

i have a brand new ram if you want to make your own, its a fair size, not sure about the tonnage though.

Went to see this guys splitters today, good and solid and split wood a treat on tickover on a big tractor
