hi just bought new tractor,(new to me lol)ford 5610,,,and apparently its road legal,,,comes with V5,,,I`m presuming I need to insure it,,,,and its apparently tax free,,,not sure how this works,,,what do I need to do to make it leagal and how? cheers

road fund license (tax disc) for agricultural/forestry tractors is nil charge, but it still requires a tax disc displayed.

 

minimum 3rd party insurance as per other road going vehicles.

Take the V5 and proof of insurance to your post office and the postie will take care of the rest for you

 

You can also post it to Swansea and you can probably do it on line

depending on how much you are using it on the roads, you might want to run it on white diesel. There has been a number of people who have lost there tractors around here as they running them on red. Some were not farmers and therefore not entitled to use red. Also a number of farmers have been fined as they were using the tractor too far from the farm, therefore not entitled to use red.
