I've seriously used it for 3 days, i put it in to service on 11/11/2010

 

i soak mine in a bowl of hot water & washing powder,then shake them in the water & u can see all the grime comming out :thumbup1:

You know what the best thing to clean a crab with?

 

Petrol.

 

It dissolves all dirt and resins.

 

 

Let it dry out then a bit of graphite grease.

 

 

Although it could damage any plastic parts so best not to use it.:sneaky2:

 

 

 

Actually is there a solvent cleaner that can be safely used with crabs?

But they could be months old!! BEst to give them a squirt with something before use, and every week or so. As long as you loler bloke hasn't chucked them, give them a squir tand if they work ok get on with it, get them re inspected when you can.

 

Any decent inspector would have squirted them before failing them, so don't use him again!

Here, here - thats exactly what my inspector does. Not sure what you are doing to your karabiners - mine stay clean and slick between the inspections - try keeping them away from dirt in the first place.:001_rolleyes:

i have been climbing for nearly twenty years and dont need somebody to tell me what needs replacing imo i was taught how to splice myself and to check my own kit not leave it to some one else to tell me it is safe.

if i dont feel safe to use it i dont use it......simples

Had some , they did not last long and forgot where i left them !! on the plus side i did by some Edelrid carabs and still swear by them , i wish you luck speaking to DMM but i think it will be a waste of a phone call !!!

 

I agree, have the best experience with Edelrid and also Antec.:thumbup1:

Just out of curiosity, what did he put on the LOLER record?

 

Does it not have "requires maintenance" or "failed"?
