You might be lucky there mate, if you type "Navara conrod" in google youll find alot of unhappy people.

Happened to a friend of a friend at about 55,000 miles.

The Navara's are a nice looking truck though:001_tt1:

Just had a read, well I never new that , it seems to be a D22 problem. Thanks for bringing it to light

WARNING to anyone thinking of buying a new D300 looks like Nissan won't fix the conrod ie blown engine problem under warrenty...

Below is an quote from a guy on that 4x4 forum discussing the d22 conrod/engine issue -

The Nissan Warranty sounds like its not worth the paper it's written on -

"Bought 54 plate Outlaw from independant dealer with 3 months warranty. 46k on the clock. Con rod gone through block after 11 days. Luckily??? still had 9 days of nissan warranty left. It is at nissan now waiting on decision. Fall back is garage warranty where I bought it and they are fighting my corner but reading this forum do I want it back!!!"

I own a D22 Navara KingCab(from new) with 60,000 on the clock(no problems so far), now I'm getting worried, was thinking of the NP300 as a replacement - think i'll look elsewhere - maybe L200?

dudes, surely everyone has a story about all 4 x 4s. I've heard terrible stories of Landrovers, Mitsus, Nissans, the lot. As an owner of a 04 plate Navara, I'm well impressed - it was awesome in a bogging job we did last December and even had to rescue a booged in Landy and Mitsu. Never let me doen, pulls like a trooper and I have it serviced at a 4x 4 specialist (not a dealer coz they haven't got a clue about looking after 4x4s).
