The council guys next to us are up for it and ready for it. The snow ploughs have been painted up and have new rubber blades on the base. And we had aproxx 1000 tons of salt ready to be spread.

 

Definitely thinking of getting a few pallets of salt in this year - ran out midway through last winter - just hate having salt in the yard as it leaches out and rusts everything near it:thumbdown:

personaly i would rather not see cedars and oaks smashed by snow

 

I agree with your sentiment, but we just have to make the best of what we are dealt surly the the weather has an affect ever thing including fungi.

A couple of us up here were thinking about joining the 4x4 Response Network. They've got branches all over the country.

 

From what i've read they did a lot of good work last winter when the emergency services got stuck.

 

There are plenty of folk on here with some pretty capable vehicles - what d'ya think?

Great idea but I bet it's a "Landy Only" set-up...
