Emergency call out charges

Evening all, windy as heck up here in the lakes, just wondering what people thoughts were on call out fees.

I got called out today, was just finishing a morning job and planning on going home as I have man flu, but got a call and went there for the afternoon. They will get charged what I would have charged for that afternoon, so no "call out" fee as such, just what I need to make up the day.

 

Out of hours is a different matter though.

Got called out today at 4pm, small eucalyptus that I had already quoted to pollard, the owner thought it was going to blow over so we went and sorted it in the dark.

i was meaning out of hours, i should have put it on the thread, sorry.

i would just charge to do the job, then again, i dont advertise emergency work. i doubt anybody would ring at 1am? they would wait till the daylight and then its operating hours so why charge an extra fee?

I charge around double for call outs.
