Pulled out a half inch blackthorn spike out my right index finger at the second knuckle. It swelled up like a gooden when i pulled it out. Cant bend the joint at all but have a compression bandage on it to get the swelling down.

Hurts i bet. After handling loads of blackthorn today not a single one got through my Ripeur 2 gloves.... and then, right at the end of the day, WHAM!, got one straight through my welly into my ankle!

 

It's out to get us i tell ya!!

Last week while wearing ordinary treework gloves,i pulled a lump of shrub out of the way at the base of a tree i was felling and some kind of blinking thorn went straight under my finger nail,my fingertip is numb now but all i can do is hope it grows out with the nail.
