Completed Kowhai removal from a few pages ago. Decent size for a Kowhai but it had been previously topped and the cuts were rotten as.

 

A couple from one of our Council reserves. The individual who decided to "trim" this native Beech was a council employee who had been repeatedly told we wouldn't trim the tree to retain her view so got her husband to take to it one weekend.

Just leave it for now and see what happens. We passed the details on to our compliance unit. Slap wrist, wet bus ticket I think was the outcome. I was somewhat unhappy (not sure how to convey my feelings without getting banned). We'll see what happens with the tree but generally they epi out like mad so we might be able to encourage a few decent leaders and try and get some shape back in to it in a couple of years. That's if our friendly council employee doesn't come and "prune" it for us.
