I though perhaps dryads saddle, but also wondered about cuticularis, however, I don't recall what the rot from it looks like?

 

Dryads saddle as in I. Dryadeus? I struggle with English names now I'm used to Latin!

 

It's a white rotter of oak butts afaik!

 

I. Cuticularis I couldn't call on, situation doesn't seem right because if I recall it's more on veterans and is quite specific to its environment?

 

The reason I said merip is if you look at the centre of the logs in pic 2 at the left hand side, the coloration seems like merip and an advanced stage for it to get to height.

Dryads saddle - Polyporous squamossus

 

Cuticularis on exposed wood, not just veterans/ancients, particularly fond of beech.

 

Colouration/lines are similar to merip, but I think the affected branch is from higher up, most likely ruling it out. Where are the fungoid trio? :rolleyes:
